 There are various options for getting to and from Geneva International Airport (GVA). There are local bus services to Geneva that operate from the Swiss sector, while buses from the French sector run to regional French towns and international destinations in countries such as Spain and Portugal. Aero Ski Bus run bus services from the airport to many French ski resorts.
There is also a railway station at Geneva Airport - all trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin Station in the city centre, from where there are connections to the rest of Switzerland and Europe.
Travel by Buses
There are several bus services running from Geneva Airport (GVA); local buses run from bus stops located outside Arrivals and Departures. The number 10 bus departs every 10 minutes and goes to Place Bel Air in the city centre, while the number 18 departs every 30 minutes and goes to the United Nations building. There are ticket machines at the bus stops.
The Aero Ski-bus service runs from the airport to many French ski resorts. For more details visit the Accueil France counter in the French sector (tel: +41 22 798 2000). There is also a coach service to Grenoble, Chambery and Lyon run by Aero-Express Geneva. Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance. For more details call: +41 438 02133.
Travel by Hotel Shuttles
Hotel courtesy buses run from the airport at 20 minute intervals, starting at 06:00. They serve the following hotels in Geneva: Forum Park Hotel, Movenpick Geneva, Movenpick Geneva-Meyrin, Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza and these hotels in Chavannes-de-Bogis: Novotel France and Manotel.
Travel by Trains
The train station is located about 300 meters from the terminal. From here, three or four trains an hour leave for the seven minute journey to Geneva-Cornavin Station in the city centre. From here it is possible to catch trains to the rest of Switzerland and Europe. There are also direct train services from the airport to Basle, Brig, Lausanne, Zurich, Milan, Rome and Venice.
Travel by Taxi Cabs
Geneva Airport (GVA) is well served by taxis. They can be caught from outside Arrivals and the journey time to the centre of Geneva is approximately 15 minutes. Taxis can be booked in advance by phoning: +41 33 141 33.
